we are

our roots

In 2018, a group in Cheltenham caught wind of a national campaign for plastic-free shopping, sparking their shared vision of creating FoodLoose. Initially part of Global Footsteps charity, FoodLoose soon became a buzzing hub of eco-consciousness

In 2021, we transformed into a Community Benefit Society, amplifying their impact and making sustainable shopping accessible. With incredible local support, we secured a beautiful new retail space at 15 Grosvenor Terrace.

In December 2022, FoodLoose opened its doors, ready to spread the joy of sustainable living. Our story is a testament to the power of community and the extraordinary possibilities when shared visions become reality.

our vibe

FoodLoose is fueled by a passionate team of dedicated volunteers who are on a mission to create a greener Cheltenham.

Whether you’re a seasoned eco-warrior or just starting your green journey, we warmly welcome you with open arms. Your presence and ideas are invaluable to us. We genuinely treasure your input, suggestions, and recommendations because this community thrives on collaboration and shared visions.

Together, we can create a brighter future!

“There is no such thing as ‘away’.

When we throw anything away, it must go somewhere.”

– Annie Leonard, executive director of Greenpeace USA

 our vision

FoodLoose is here, and we’re shaking up the scene with our community-focused, values-driven business model. Brace yourself for a game-changing impact.

Not only are we committed to reducing the colossal amount of single-use plastic waste that plagues our landfills, waterways, and oceans, but we’re also on a mission to inspire local businesses and government entities to follow suit. We want to show them that the power to transform our shopping habits, our lifestyles, and our connections to our communities and environment lies firmly in our hands.

“It is the worst of times but it is the best of times, because we still have a chance”

– Sylvia Earle, one of first female oceanographers on plastic pollution
